Dallas

The 26 lawyers in Sidley’s Dallas office focus exclusively on intellectual property law encompassing protection, litigation, counseling and licensing matters. The office is located in the central business district adjoining the acclaimed Dallas Arts District, which houses the Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Garden, Winspear Opera Hall and the I.M. Pei-designed Meyerson Symphony Hall.

Dallas office lawyers work with clients across a wide range of technical disciplines to develop patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret protection strategies in today’s competitive business environment. The office’s IP lawyers have strong technical backgrounds in fields such as electrical, chemical, mechanical and aeronautical engineering as well as the biosciences.

The Dallas IP practice has a particular focus on the litigation and trial of patent infringement actions filed around the country, including many cases in the Eastern District of Texas. Such cases have covered a broad spectrum of technologies, including semiconductors, computers, telecommunications, internet, pharmaceuticals, oil field equipment, mechanical apparatus, consumer products and business methods.

Dallas office lawyers also devote their time and energy to the community, providing intellectual property counseling and representation to non-profit organizations such as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation and Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy. Lawyers in the office also handle asylum, death penalty and other matters on a pro bono basis.
